Various Flavors of Jam

The Bad Plus - Give
The follow-up to their first cd, These Are the Vistas, Give includes covers of the Pixies' "Velouria" and Black Sabbath's "Iron Man" in another exercise of pushing the boundaries between rock/pop and improvisational jazz.
Mocean Worker - Enter the MoWo!
Funky dance jams.
Lake Trout - Another One Lost
Rock driven jams.
Schleigho- Live at the Ho-Down 2000
Take 2 parts chunky straight-ahead jazz, pour in 3 parts guitar funk and set the blender to frappé for a free-wheeling blend of fun.
Einstürzende Neubauten - Strategies Against Architecture II
Ungh! What is the opposite of a laid-back funk/jazz extravaganza? Industrial-techno-metal experimental music. This 2-disc album is not for the weak-willed and should probably not be listened to while on an empty stomach (or by anyone prone to migraines or seizures). The liner notes for the track "Wardrobe" explain:
It features our longest tape loop (30 seconds), Alex's dog Lola, singing chainsaws, a rank of 3m high airducts arranged like dominos, snapping wood, and water dripping on a hot stove.
Other "instruments" on the cd include a jackhammer, a shopping cart, a fork on metal, razor blades on a mirror...you get the idea.
